Be Cheerful, Sir!
These our actors, as I foretold you, were all spirits...
Once more, the timing seems to work out perfectly! I came to check on this substack when the fancy hit, and it had been precisely one year since my hiatus announcement.
As of now, I have just completed my first official Noh performance on stage. I have visited and prayed at every major battlefield of the Genpei War of 1185-1189. I have become acquainted with more kindly and incredibly talented persons than I can count. And my Navy reinstatement scroll is now in the hands of congress, with only a signature and a swearing-in left for me before I once more become LCDR Jessica Kalei Sheffield - perhaps soon to be CDR, God-willing.
Needless to say, stepping away from the interwebs and not worrying about conveying my experiences and thoughts in video/written format, enabled greater and greater experiences, meetings, and adventures in the real world. And ultimately, the farcical nature of needing to pause the adventure in order to tell people about the fact that one is in the middle of an adventure, has been revealed.
Additionally, due to the internet becoming less and less the fantastic Wild West of my childhood and turning into some sort of extra, unnecessary layer of reality designed to steer and control minds, I’ve greatly enjoyed whittling down my digital presence, and slowly parting from it to increase my grass-touching portfolio.
Thus, as I take a look at what I will be preserving, and what will fade out of this increasingly synthesized interface, I will leave you with one of Akira the Don’s excellent samplings of Mr. Neville Goddard:
