It’s been a while since I wrote about catastrophic destructive events that have impacted the course of human existence, but with Argo Gulski discovering his most pure warriors intentions are essentially fighting for his friends and the woman he loves (based), and this somehow giving him dominion over the Earth’s seismographic tendencies, I couldn’t help but recall the coolest historical catastrophe that had ever befallen Russia (that we know of), and that is the Tunguska Air-burst Event:
Now I could easily slip in to an aside about just how cool Randall Carlson’s insights into the cycle of Earth’s cosmic fender-benders are… but I will resist and simply leave the insatiably curious with this summary:
And move on, continuing with the best part of this particular episode of G Gundam: Nastasha realizing the Russian government is anti-human bureaucratic scum, and tentatively making a pact with the prisoner she’d been tasked with supervising for the purpose of securing victory for Neo Russian in the 13th Gundam Fight.




And so begins the inevitable march of the burgeoning sense of human self-worth that eventually leads to separation from an oppressive tyranny. Well done, Imagawa. Very subtle. Between this sub-plot, and Neo Canada’s fighter still blaming Argo for the death of his wife, there’s plenty of masculine redemption stories to go around in episode 38!
